UFC 112: Invincible is set to kick off from April 10,2010 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Pound-for-Pound impresarios Anderson Silva and B.J. Penn will try to defend the middleweight and lightweight titles respectively in their bouts that will either continue to nail down their status as all-timers or turn the rankings into a jigsaw puzzle.

In the middleweight bout Anderson Silva is set to take on Demian Maia who has is set to face an uphill task in overcoming his opponent who is arguably the greatest middleweight of all time. Initially Victor Belfort was supposed to be the man to take on Silva but an injury forced him out and his replacement Chael Sonnen is also out due to injury and hence Maia got his chance and whether he can do something special, we have to wait and see. All the training and preparation won’t make Maia good enough to trade strikes with Silva and his only hope is perfectly timing a takedown attempt.

In the lightweight bout Frankie Edgar has an insurmountable task of getting the lightweight belt from B.J.Penn who since winning the lightweight belt from Jack Stevenson back at UFC 80 has defended his championship three times against some of the best contenders the division is set to offer like Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian and most recently Diego Sanchez and Edgar, a 28 year old New Jersey native knows what to expect from such a high calibre opponent. In the welterweight bout Matt hughes is set to take upon Renzo Gracie. This UFC has the card-of-the-year potential all over it.
